Hey People!
Our 'TLR Summer 2016' has commenced and it promises to be a summer like no other! Our activities include;
A VIDEO PROFILE FOR EACH KID AND A VISIT TO A VIDEO STUDIO
This is an experience no kid will want to miss. Some have dreams of being celebrities in front of cameras. This summer we will be celebrating each child giving them more than a peek into this world of stardom.
STUDIO MUSIC RECORDING
We will be visiting a music studio and while learning how things work at the studio we will be recording our TLR theme song!
ART AND CRAFT
There are so many amazing things that can be made with stuff we see around us every day. Creativity will be at its best during our art and craft classes. The kids will also get to design their own Tees!
CREATIVE WRITING
Our 'My own mini novel' project this summer which will involve the older kids, will challenge them to reach within and bring out what even they may not have known they were capable of at this stage. The younger kids won't be left out. We have creative writing games and activities lined up and a visit from a great author the kids have been wanting to meet. Yaaay!

It doesn't stop there. We have field trips planned out and to wrap it all up a summer open day event where the kids get to show parents and loved ones all they did this summer. A play written and acted by the kids will also be presented.

Our TLR Summer started on the 11th of July and will continue till the 27th of August 2016. Make this happen for your kids!

Hey people!
It has been awhile and during this 'while' a lot has been going on at TLR's creativity hub. Last week I had some 'chat time' with the kids and they told me what they would want our 'TLR Summer' to look like. It included having interviews on TV, having video profiles of each member of the club and having a one on one session with the great performance poet and author 'Dike Chukwumerije'. I was like 'Wow, we really have to make this happen this summer!' I am so looking forward to #tlrsummer, yaay!
In our creative writing class the kids are presently writing stories using our TLR characters such as Bimbo the busy bee, Miss Moo and Tortoise. I can't wait to read their stories.
We had so much fun in music as usual playing our instruments and singing our hearts out.
In art and craft, we made kites. They looked so pretty, I had my doubts about them flying but they sure can fly!

Today is another fun day at TLR's creativity hub! This month is our weather month. We all have the particular kind of weather we prefer.
Last week the kids talked about how they feel when they think of or experience various types of weather. The rain makes them think of rainbows and dancing water while a storm makes them think of horror. One kid said clouds make her think of pillows in the sky. That's an interesting way to put it, don't you think? At TLR we have the most amazing kids. Like the kids say on club days, 'TLR Rocks!'

The potential possibilities of any child are the most intriguing and stimulating in all creation. Children have the ability to become anything they dream to be given the right encouragement and love needed. Today we'll be scanning through a couple of young achievers Nigeria has produced, just follow me...

Nine year old Omiloju Tunde Oladipo of Role Model School Oregun, Ikeja Lagos has become the youngest ever Nigerian Microsoft certified professional. He came first out of 21 pupils who wrote the exam with a score of 769 of 1000. With this he joins the league of young Microsoft professionals in the world, but hes not stopping there. He plans to study Excel and Power point too.

Currently trending on the art scene is Oresegun Olumide, a creative painter whose works have taken African creativity to another level. He has produced realistic paintings that can compete with "The Mona Lisa" by Leonardo da Vinci. His artwork could one day feature in the history of world records for art.

There are many more young achievers to be featured at a later date. They all excelled in thier vairous fields through determination and encouragement from people who believed in them to be the best. Quoting Denis Waitley, "the greatest gifts you can give your children are the roots of responsibility and the wings of independence".
At TLR creativity hub we encourage and groom creativity to yield responsibility and independence. Our activities include Creative Writing, Art and Craft, Graphic Illustration, Dance and Music. According to motivational speaker Denis Waitley, the greatest gift you can give your children are the roots of responsibility and the wings of independence. This aim we strive to help parents achieve by encouraging and grooming each child's creative genius.
Tomuns Little Readers creativity Hub recognizes that each child is born with unique creative ability, and we give room for the expression and improvement of this creative ability.

Quoting Hiam Ginot, a child psychologist,"children are like wet cement, whatever falls on them makes an impression". Now is the time to imprint responsibility and independence into your child. Let us build your child's creativity today,so they can be independent tomorrow.

Hello all,

Its still recycling month and there's so much fun things to do. Guess what, by learning to recycle, we indirectly save the earth by helping reduce global warming.
Our trash can be a treasure grove you know. We can learn to make other new things from old stuff, like jewelry, art work, toys etc...

Also, when we recycle, we learn how to be resourceful and avoid waste. To this effect, we beg you parents, please make available to us plastic bottles, bottle tops, buttons, old newspapers, drinking straws, plastic spoons, empty biscuit cartons, empty can drinks, feathers and used disposable cups. Its trash, but we can make it fab!

As always its learning and fun at TLR, why don't you register your kid now? For more information please visit us at number 1 Oworo street, off road 35, 3rd avenue Gwarinpa or call 08033856798, 08068119230.

Yaaaaaaay!! Its the month of April and i'm so glad we're all alive and well to see this new month.
This April, we'll be using and re-using! Yes! Its Recycling Month!
Not all our discarded stuff is rubbish you know, so this month we'll be learning the different ways to use old stuff for new and exciting things, use old songs to make new music and so on...
Parents, we need your help to achieve this, kindly give us a few used plastic bottles, bottle tops, buttons and old newspapers and see the beautiful things we can do with them. Help teach us to discourage waste.
I don't have to tell you that we'll be having tons of fun this month, so if your child is not yet a TLR kid, what are you waiting for? Visit us at number 1 Oworo street, off road 35, 3rd avenue Gwarinpa, or call 08033856798,08188954133,08068119230.
